Patio and Deck Cleaning

Home Uplift provides professional patio and deck cleaning services designed to improve the appearance, safety, and longevity of your outdoor surfaces. Over time, patios and decking can collect moss, algae, dirt, and grime, which not only looks unsightly but can also create slippery and unsafe conditions.

Different surfaces require different cleaning methods. Wooden decking can be damaged by high-pressure washing, which is why we use a low, controlled pressure combined with specialist cleaning solutions to safely remove organic growth without harming the wood. For patios and other hard surfaces, pressure levels are carefully adjusted to deliver a deep, effective clean while protecting the material.

Regular patio and deck cleaning helps reduce slip hazards, prevent surface deterioration, and extend the life of your outdoor areas. Our service leaves your patio or decking clean, safe, and visually refreshed, helping to enhance your home’s kerb appeal and overall presentation.

Cleaning process

Every patio and decking clean begins with a thorough preparation process to ensure safe working conditions, effective cleaning, and full protection of your property.

We first confirm access to a suitable water supply and check that proper drainage is available. Any items that could obstruct access or be affected during cleaning are carefully moved or protected. Surrounding surfaces are then pre-soaked to prevent dirt from bonding to areas not being cleaned and to ensure that cleaning solutions cannot dwell on unintended surfaces. Lawns, plants, and garden areas are also thoroughly wetted to prevent chemical absorption and protect surrounding greenery.

Once preparation is complete, we set up and calibrate our equipment to suit the surface being cleaned. The majority of surface dirt, moss, and debris is carefully removed using controlled pressure, ensuring effective cleaning without damaging the material — particularly important for timber decking, where excessive pressure can cause surface damage.

Following this, a sodium hypochlorite treatment is applied to break down remaining organic growth, including algae, lichen, and black spotting. The solution is left to dwell for approximately 15 minutes, allowing it to work deep into the surface. It is then thoroughly rinsed away, lifting any remaining contamination.

All dislodged dirt and organic matter is either bagged or safely directed through controlled drainage. Once cleaning is complete, surrounding areas affected during the process are fully rinsed, leaving your patio or decking clean, safe, and visually refreshed.
